Wings recruits new CFO to ‘spearhead’ growth

Anthony McCartney

Wings Global Travel has further strengthened its team by appointing Anthony McCartney as the TMC’s new group chief financial officer (CFO).

McCartney joins the UK-based TMC after spending more than 10 years at online travel agency Expedia where he was CFO of the Travel Partners Group.

Wings said in a statement that McCartney would “spearhead the next phase of growth” for the TMC.

“I’m excited to be joining Wings, an established player with huge potential to leverage its global presence and its reputation for client service and managing complex travel programmes,” said McCartney of his new role.

Wings’ chief executive Tony Sofianos added: “I’m delighted to welcome Anthony to Wings. He has a rare blend of operational ability, strategic vision and drive that will be crucial to our growth in a challenging market.

“More than ever, the successful TMCs will be those that combine sound financial management with superb partner relations and best-in-class technology.”

Wings’ latest appointment comes after the company appointed Jarred Vock as its new business development manager in London earlier this month.
