That’s right, prices have returned to the Chanel website and they’ve hiked since the last time you saw them. One product, in particular, is the Chanel Classic Flap bag, which had a substantial price increase in March 2023.
Some of us are very happy with getting a bag from Primark, H&M, and the like. Others are fine pulling out of one of their many totes to use for the day or even an old plastic bag. Then there are those who are pretty appalled by that idea and only want the best. None of these are wrong, but those wanting Chanel can expect a bigger chunk out of their wallet than the others.
Unfortunately, that chunk has just got bigger in March 2023.

Chanel’s Spring Summer 2023 collection dropped last week, and that was the first sign that things were about to change. It only got worse when immediately after all the prices disappeared off the website. Any dads out there would be screaming that this means they were free, however, we all know better than that.
Then, they returned and nothing seemed to have changed. The sun got a little brighter, our wallets felt heavier and everything in life seemed good again.

So, it finally happened and it isn’t the best news for fashion fans, with price hikes of almost 20 percent on some products. The Chanel bag is stunning, so we understand if you really want one. To help make your decision, we’ll break down the Chanel Classic Flap price increase for 2023 so you’re as informed as possible.
Firstly, we’ll start with the US, but if you’re planning a trip to Europe soon then maybe hold off…
Before today, the Classic Small Flap was a mere $8200 — pocket change really. However, it’s now $9600. This is a price increase of $1400, or for the mathematicians out there, 17 percent.
However, it doesn’t stop there. The Classic Medium Flap which was $8800 now reaches double figures with a March 2023 price of $10,200. That’s a 16 percent price increase.
Lastly, the Classic Jumbo bag was only $9500. If you really want the biggest version of the bag, then you’ll know $11,000 out of pocket. Sure, that’s no bigger and definitely not more than we have in all our bank accounts combined.
Now, if you’re planning on flying across the pond sometime soon then you might want to hold off on your purchase until then. Though conversion rates are baffling at the worst of times, it’s reported that it’s actually cheaper here than in the US. Depending on how cheap you can get a plane ticket and how desperate you are, maybe that’s something worth considering…
Back to business.
So, the Classic Small Flap which was €8450 has hiked to €9300 in 2023, meaning a 10 percent price increase. For the slightly bigger bag, the medium flap, this is now €9700 from €8890 a few ago. A slightly better inflation rate, this works out as a 7.9 percent increase.
Finally, the UK where the Chanel Classic Flap price increase reads better than the US ones, however, do take conversion into consideration.
Here, the Classic Small Flap, which was £7090 has had a 15.4 percent increase in March 2023 to £8180.
The Classic Medium Flap is now £8530, rising 13 percent from £7550.
Lastly, the Classic Jumbo Flap bag has increased from £8140 to £9240, a percentage rise of 13.5.
Now you have all the prices to hand, the only thing left to do is consider whether it’s worth it. Sure, some people will definitely think you’re mad for spending that much on a bag. However, those same people will be equally as jealous to see you with it.
