Amazon expands luxury offering with pre-owned goods

Ecommerce giant Amazon is entering the secondhand fashion market in Europe. It is collaborating with luxury resale platform Hardly Ever Worn It. Customers in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Italy can now browse pre-owned fashion items on Luxury Stores at Amazon.

The online marketplace has been selling pre-owned or refurbished items for a while now. Last year, its European secondhand sales exceeded 1 billion euros. Now, it is adding an assortment of pre-owned items from luxury fashion brands to its storefront on Luxury Stores at Amazon in Europe.

Collaboration with resale platform

Amazon is collaborating with Hardly Ever Worn it, a family-run designer resale website. The screening process of items is designed by the resale platform, which ensures high quality of all items. The collaboration is now available to customers in Spain, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

The storefront comes with clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry and watches from luxury brands.

The Hardly Ever Worn It storefront now comes with women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, jewelry and watches from luxury brands. The collaboration gives the resale platform access to a wider audience, while also giving Amazon customers more options to shop for secondhand items.

‘Thrilled to expand luxury offering’

“We are thrilled to expand our luxury offering with Hardly Ever Worn It this year, to include more of our customers’ favorite brands and styles”, said Ruth Diaz, VP, Amazon Fashion Europe. “We are always looking to innovate and engage with our diverse customers, and launching pre-owned goods allows us to do just that, whilst also creating an opportunity for us to offer our customers accessible luxury.”

‘Our collaboration is a testament to our commitment to making high-end circular fashion accessible.’

“Hardly Ever Worn It launching on Luxury Stores at Amazon marks a new level of visibility for luxury resale”, said Tatiana Wolter Ferguson, CEO, Hardly Ever Worn It. “Our collaboration with Amazon is a testament to our commitment to making high-end circular fashion accessible to a diverse and wide-reaching audience.
